NEWTON, Mass. - Brown women's tennis competed at the Garden City Doubles Championships in Newton, Mass. on Sunday.Â
The doubles pairs of freshmen Dani Ben-Abraham and Anne Yang, as well as junior Gabby Soliman and freshman Hannah Shen competed for the Bears.
Both pairs played three matches on the day. In the main tournament, Ben-Abraham and Yang advanced to the quarterfinals.
"Our teams of Dani and Anne as well as Gabby and Hannah had the opportunity to compete in a non-traditional doubles format tournament co-organized by the legendary former Harvard men's tennis coach Dave Fish," said Head Coach Lucie Schmidhauser. "Our players played a minimum of three doubles matches in one afternoon, facing a variety of players and styles. Each team got better with each match they played and I was pleased with the progress the teams made in their doubles games."
