Men's Hockey Continues Homestand Against Dartmouth; #9 Harvard

PROVIDENCE R.I. – Brown men's hockey (7-10-2, 3-7-2 ECAC) continues its six-game homestand this weekend against the Dartmouth Big Green (2-15-1, 1-9-1 ECAC) on Friday (Jan. 20) and the ninth-ranked Harvard Crimson (12-4-1, 10-2-0 ECAC) on Saturday (Jan. 21).
Both games are set to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters the weekend with a three-game win streak along with a 7-10-2 overall record and 3-7-2 conference mark. The Bears sit in eighth place in the ECAC standings with 13 league points.
- Freshman Ryan Bottrill leads the Bears in goals (6) and points (14). He is tied for the team-lead with eight assists alongside defenseman Jackson Munro.
- In addition to Bottrill, three other Bears have double-digit points this season – Cole Quisenberry (5-6-11), Brett Bliss (4-6-10), and Matt Sutton (3-7-10).
- Brown's power play has struck for 11 goals in 61 attempts to rank eighth in the conference and 38th in the NCAA. The Bears scored 12 power play goals in 109 attempts a season ago.
- Defensively, Brown allows 2.53 goals per game to rank fifth in the ECAC and 17th in the nation. Sophomore netminder Mathieu Caron has started all 19 games this season and holds a .927 save percentage and a 2.25 goals against average along with two shutouts.
- Brown's penalty kill clicks at 77.1% (64-83) to rank tenth in the conference. Brown has killed off 14 consecutive penalties and 16-of-17 since the start of 2023.
- Dartmouth enters the weekend with a 2-15-1 overall record and 1-9-1 ECAC mark.
- Outside of two wins over Yale and a tie against Brown, the Big Green have dropped all 15 other games played.
- Seven of the 15 losses have come by a single goal with three of those losses coming in overtime.
- Dartmouth scores 2.11 goals per game to rank 11th in the conference and 55th in the NCAA. Freshman Luke Haymes leads the Big Green with seven goals while senior defenseman Tanner Palocsik leads the team in assists (9) and points (12).
- Dartmouth's power play ranks 10th in the conference and 54th in the nation with seven goals in 57 attempts (12.3%).
- Dartmouth allows 3.61 goals per game to rank at the bottom of the ECAC and 56th in the NCAA.
- Cooper Black has started all 18 games for the Big Green and holds a .900 save percentage and 3.02 goals against average.
- Dartmouth's penalty kill leads the nation with just five goals allowed in 59 attempts (91.5%). The Big Green have not allowed a power play goal in nine games.
- Brown and Dartmouth meet for the 166th time in series history Friday at Meehan Auditorium.
- The Bears hold a 71-85-9 all-time record against the Big Green with a 39-37-5 home record and 33-25-5 mark at Meehan Auditorium.
- Harvard enters the weekend with a 12-4-1 overall record and 10-2-0 ECAC mark. The Crimson rank ninth in the nation per both national polls and the Pairwise rankings.
- The Crimson average 3.71 goals per game to rank second in the conference and eighth in the NCAA.
- Four players - Matt Coronato, Sean Farrell, Alex Laferriere, and Joe Miller - are tied for the team lead with 10 goals apiece. Farrell leads the team in assists (15) and points (23).
- In total, three Crimson skaters have at least 20 points and another four have at least 10 points.
- Harvard's power play clicks at 24.6% (16-65) to rank second in the ECAC and 12th in the country.
- Defensively, Harvard allows 2.29 goals per game to rank third in the conference and 10th in the nation.
- Between the pipes, Mitchell Gibson has made 11 starts and holds a .921 save percentage and 2.21 goals against average. Derek Mullaly picked up ECAC Goaltender of the Week honors after starting both games last weekend. He holds a .956 save percentage and 1.00 goals against average in four starts this season.
- Harvard's penalty kill clicks at 85.7% (42-49) to rank second in the conference and ninth in the nation.
- Brown and Harvard meet for the 182nd time in series history Saturday in Providence.
- Harvard owns the series edge, 119-48-14, along with a 53-25-9 record in Providence and a 38-18-8 record at Meehan.
- Brown swept its first home weekend in six weeks with a 6-2 win over Union (Jan. 13) and a 3-0 win over Rensselaer (Jan. 14) last weekend at Meehan Auditorium.
- Five Bears recorded multiple points in the win over Union, led by Grandberg's goal and three assists.
- Mathieu Caron recorded 24 saves in both wins, recording his second shutout of the season and fourth of his career against RPI.
- Brown enters the weekend with a three-game win streak with victories over #8 Merrimack, Union, and Rensselaer.
- With the streak, Brown has matched its win total from 2021-22 at seven.
- Senior defenseman James Crossman enters the weekend with a three-game goal streak.
- Crossman scored the opening goal in Brown's 6-2 win at #8 Merrimack, the game-winner against Union, and a shorthanded insurance goal against Rensselaer.
- The Denver, Colorado native has five goals and seven points through 18 games. He is tied for second on the team in goals alongside classmate Cole Quisenberry.
- Sophomore Lynden Grandberg was named ECAC Forward of the Week following a career performance against the Union Dutchmen. It marked the first weekly award of Grandberg's career.
- Grandberg scored the night's first goal against Union and added three assists to finish with a career-high four points.
