Men's water polo heads to California for three games this weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown men's water polo hits the road for the first time this season as the Bears will travel to California for three games.
Brown starts the weekend on Saturday (Sept. 17) with games against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (1:30 p.m. ET) and Whittier (5:30 p.m. ET). The Bears will then take on Pepperdine on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
Saturday's game at Whittier will be streamed on the Whittier College Sports Network. The game against Pepperdine will be streamed on the WCC Network.

ABOUT THE BEARS
- Brown is 5-3 on the season after wins against Long Island and MIT last weekend. The Bears beat the Sharks 12-4 and the Engineers 15-10.
- Ilias Stothart led Brown with seven goals over the two games and leads Brown with 18 goals on the season. Stothart has drawn a team-high 16 exclusions and 15 penalties.
- With his performance, Stothart earned NWPC Rookie of the Week this week.
- Gabe Chang is second on the team with 15 goals and 11 exclusions drawn. Chang also has six assists and six steals.
- Leo Berkman leads the team with 13 steals and has collected 12 goals on the year.
- Filip Aleksic is tops on the squad with 11 assists and Cole Atwell has 10 to go along with nine goals and seven steals.
- In goal, Kole Newman leads the team with 44 blocks and Simeon Dong has 28.
ABOUT CLAREMONT-MUDD-SCRIPPS
- C-M-S is 3-5 on the season and is coming off an 11-10 win over Air Force.
- Thomas Walker leads the team with 15 goals. Cristian Pang and Luke (Bear) Weigle are tied for second with 13.
- Jake Taylor leads the team in goal with 48 saves and Aidan Nettekoven is second with 43.
ABOUT WHITTIER
- Whittier is 3-5 on the season with all three wins coming in its last five games.
- In their last game, against Riverside, the Poets were led by four goals each from Ricardo Reyes, Jr., and Ethan Saenz.
ABOUT PEPPERDINE
- Pepperdine is 2-4 on the season, with all four losses coming against teams that were ranked in the top-7.
- The Waves will play three games before taking on the Bears to close out the weekend.
- Adam Csapo leads the team with 16 goals and Dennis Blyashov is second on the team with 10. Blyashov leads the squad with 13 assists.
