
Men's Hockey Honors Seniors, Award Winners at Year-End Banquet

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey program gathered at the Graduate Providence for a year-end Banquet to honor its seniors and hand out end-of-year awards.
Four graduating Bears – Tristan Crozier, Justin Jallen, Luke Kania, and Michael Maloney received program awards with freshman goaltender Mathieu Caron receiving the year-end honors.
In addition to the five team awards, each graduating member of the team received his white University Letter sweater and a framed jersey. Members of the freshman and sophomore classes received brown University Letter sweaters.
Class of 1936 Award
This trophy is awarded to the player who through sportsmanship, performance and influence contributed the most to the sport at Brown.
2021-22 recipient: Tristan Crozier
Charles A. Lanigan Memorial Award
This award honors the late Brown trainer and is given to the senior hockey player who shows the most improvement during his varsity career.
2021-2022 Recipient: Michael Maloney
Charles A. Robinson, Jr. Memorial Award
Honoring the late Brown Classics professor, this trophy is given annually to the hockey letterman attaining the highest degree of academic excellence in his first seven semesters.
2021-2022 Recipient: Luke Kania
James H. Fullerton Award
This award is given to the first-year player who in the eyes of his teammates contributed the most to the success of the team.
2021-2022 Recipient: Mathieu Caron
Patrick S. Jones Memorial Award (Coaches' Award)
Awarded in honor of the former Brown hockey player, this award is given to that member of the team who generates the most spark and enthusiasm in building team spirit.
2021-2022 Recipient: Justin Jallen
The Class of 1936 Award, James H. Fullerton Award, and Charles A. Lanigan Memorial Award are all voted on by the members of the Brown men's hockey team.
To close the banquet, head coach Brendan Whittet announced that junior assistant captain Luke Krys will serve as team captain in 2022-23. Krys was elected captains by his teammates. The Ridgefield, Connecticut native is the 111th Bear in program history to wear the 'C.'
