Frey Captures Two New England Championships

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior sprinter Maddie Frey added a pair of New England Championships to her credit over the weekend to highlight the NEICAAA Championships for the Brown track and field programs. Frey took home the gold in both the 100 and 200 meter dashes, as Brown earned four podium finishes on the women's side.
Frey took home the 100 meter title with a time of 11.94 seconds, and also broke the tape to win the 200 meters in 23.99 seconds. Frey was joined on the podium of the 200 meters by Arielle Desir, who's time of 24.36 moved her into the top 10 all-time at Brown. Desir also PR'ed in the prelims of the 100 meter dash.
Daryn Davis took home the bronze in the triple jump at 12.14 meters (39'10), with Lauren Stern scoring team points in sixth place overall at 11.63 meters (38'2). Kendra Ezeama scored points for Brown with her sixth place shot put of 13.62 meters (44'8.25).
Over in the javelin, Kenzii Phillips took home second place with her runner-up performance of 44.06 meters (144'7).
On the men's side, Brown was represented by Kevin Boyce, who set two new personal records in the 100 and 200 meter prelims.
Brown will now await the final field of qualifiers for the upcoming NCAA East Regionals, which will take place May 26-28 in Bloomington, Indiana. The current performance lists a can be found here.
