POSTGAME NOTES

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Princeton went up 1-0 in the second inning, then blew the game open with a seven-run third, sending 12 men to the plate, putting the first seven batters on base, and scoring three unearned runs following a two-out error.
- Brown answered right way with three runs in the bottom of the third. Jared Johnson drew a bases loaded walk, then Boree and Crawford followed with consecutive RBI singles to cut it to 8-3 before the Tigers ended the inning by throwing out a runner at the plate tagging up.
- Brown added two more in the sixth as Marra plated Hipp with a sac fly, and Rappoli scored Morphew after a long at bat with a single to center to cut it to 8-5.
- Princeton tacked on a run to make it 9-6 in the top of the seventh, but Brown batted around and sent 10 men to the plate as part of a five-run surge to take the lead, scoring all five runs with two outs.
- Morphew tagged an RBI single to score Hipp for the first run, Sass drew a walk to load the bases and Marra got hit by a pitch to force in another run and make it 9-7.
- Up next, Rappoli sent a double into the right field corner to plate all three runners to put Brown in front by one.
- Sass added a big two-out RBI for an insurance run in the eighth inning which pushed it to 11-9.
- After Meyers got the first two outs of the ninth, Beilenson entered and got the game-ending groundout to short with the bases loaded.

QUOTES FROM THE COACH: GRANT ACHILLES
- "The goal is to minimize what they have and be able to chip away and keeping putting pressure throughout the game. When you have a lineup that keeps fighting, that's something you're confident in being able to do."
- "After that third inning, it was in Paxton's hands to hold them, and for our bullpen to enter in pressure situations, and continue to put up zeros, that kept us in it. Charlie coming in to work through baserunners and shut the door was critical."
- "That run in the eighth was huge. It's a different feeling being up two runs instead of one in that situation."
