Softball travels to Dartmouth for weekend series as Ivy League play continues

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball continues Ivy League play on the road at Dartmouth over the weekend. The series is scheduled for two games on Saturday (April 9) and a single game on Sunday (April 10).
All three games of the series will be streamed on ESPN+.
ABOUT BROWN
The Bears come into the weekend with a 3-6 record in Ivy League play after winning two of three games at Yale.
Brown beat Yale 15-5 in six innings in game three of the series, scoring the most runs Brown has scored in an Ivy League game since 1989.
The offense has been clicking for the Bears as Brown has scored double-figure runs four times this season for the first time since 2017. Three of those four games have happened in the last ten contests.
For the second time this season, Katie O'Leary was named Ivy League Player of the Week after hitting .467 with a team-high seven hits, two home runs and 10 RBIs. O'Leary's best performance was a seven RBI performance in a midweek game against Bryant.
Alexis Guevara earned her second Ivy League Rookie of the Week award after posting a 2-0 record with a 1.46 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched. Guevara had 18 strikeouts on the week, including a career-high 11 against Yale. The freshman allowed batters to hit just .140 on the week.
O'Leary leads the team with a .367 batting average on the season and Brianna Rodriguez is second, hitting .350.
In the circle, Erin Elgas leads the team with a 1.24 ERA, followed by Guevara at 2.27 and Lauren Innerst at 3.03. Guevara and Innerst are tied for the team lead with four wins on the season.
BROWN IN THE IVY
In the Ivy League, Brown's offense sits on top of the league in RBI (95), on base percentage (.338), triples (4), hit by pitch (20) and stolen bases (31). The Bears are also second in the league in walks (78), runs (106) and doubles (32).
In the circle, Brown's pitching staff has the best ERA (2.79) and opposing batting average (.246). Brown has also allowed the fewest hits and runs in the Ivy League.
ABOUT DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth comes into the weekend with a 9-20 overall mark and 3-3 record in Ivy League play. The Big Green have won four-straight games, including the final two games at Princeton last weekend.
Dartmouth's Brooke Plonka was named Pitcher of the Week last weekend after shutting down Princeton's offense. Plokna holds a 7-9 record with a 3.17 ERA and has 74 strikeouts on the season.
On offense, Billie McFadyen leads the team with a .310 batting average, the only player on the roster to be hitting over .300. McFadyen has a team-high 27 hits and is second on the team with 12 RBI. Kate Farren leads the team with three home runs and 13 RBI.
