#5 Women's Crew Heads to Worcester for 47th Eastern Sprints on Sunday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The fifth-ranked Brown Bears compete in the 47th annual Eastern Sprints on Sunday (May 1) on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The Bears will compete in several heats throughout the morning before the final heats in the afternoon, beginning with the 3V8 heat at 8 a.m.
Brown is one of 17 teams competing in the 2022 Championship and one of five Ivy programs in the field alongside Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Radcliffe.
Brown's 3V crew will race alongside Boston U., Dartmouth, Drexel, and Northeastern in the first race of the day.
Bruno's Varsity 8 crew will race their heat at 8:20 a.m. alongside Boston College, Drexel, Georgetown, and UMass.
The 2V8 crew races at 8:50 a.m. with Columbia, Georgetown, Northeastern, and in-state foe Rhode Island.
Brown's A4 boat continues the competition at 9:20 a.m. in a heat against Drexel, Radcliffe, Rhode Island, and Temple.
At 9:50 a.m., Brown's B4 boat hits the water against Boston U., Georgetown, Northeastern, Radcliffe, and Temple.
The C4 crew closes the heats at 12:50 p.m. against Northeastern, Radcliffe, Rhode Island, Rutgers C, and Rutgers D.
Brown has captured the team championship at the Eastern Sprints 10 times and the Varsity 8 Championship a total of eight times from 1988 through 2013. The Bears have not competed in the Eastern Sprints since 2013.
Rutgers captured the Varsity 8 Championship in 2019.
Most recently, Brown competed on Cayuga Lake in Ithaca, New York against the Cornell Big Red and the Dartmouth Big Green. The Bears swept all five races over the Ivy rivals and remained a perfect 28-0 against Cornell for the Dunn Bowl.
Following Sunday's races in Worcester, Brown returns to the Garden State to compete in the 2022 Ivy League Championships on Sunday, May 15 at Cooper River Park in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
