Women's water polo starts CWPA Tournament against Bucknell on Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo is set to begin play at the CWPA Championship with a matchup against Bucknell on Friday (April 22). The match will begin at 4 p.m.
Brown enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed having posted a 7-5 record in conference play. Bucknell is the No. 5 seed, holding a 3-9 record in conference play.
Brown won both regular season meetings against Bucknell, winning the first meeting at Bucknell 12-7 and taking the second meeting at home 8-6.
ABOUT BROWN
Brown closed out the regular season with a 24-13 record, posting the most wins in program history. The Bears finished the season splitting its last six matches.
The Bears are led by Zoe King who has a team-high 68 goals and is second on the team with 36 assists. King also leads the team with 63 steals and has won 70 sprints.
Katie Klein leads the team with 38 assists and has scored 31 goals and has 18 steals.
Dagmara Czajka has filled the stat sheet this year with 21 goals, 16 assists, 45 steals and a team-high 32 field blocks.
Claire Pisani is second on the team with 55 goals and leads the team with 104 exclusions drawn. Pisani has also picked up 29 steals on the year.
In goal, Marley Presiado has a team-high 193 saves and has 25 steals to go along with four assists.
ABOUT BUCKNELL
Bucknell went 9-15 in the regular season and finished just 3-9 in conference play. The Bisons finished the season with losses to Michigan, Harvard and Brown.
UP NEXT
The winner of the match will play No. 1 seed Michigan in the second round on Saturday (April 23). The loser will play the loser of the match between Harvard and Mount. St. Mary's.
