To open the third quarter, the Aztecs stretched the lead to three, but Jeschke and Mascone responded for Brown to cut it to 7-6. The Bears won the ensuing draw and had a chance to tie, but both teams proceeded to turn the ball over back and forth five times before San Diego was able to settle things down and find its eighth goal of the game as the third quarter came to a close.
Mascone scored to start the fourth and brought the score to 8-7 Aztecs, but that's as close as the Bears would get. San Diego scored six of the next seven to end the game and claim the win.
