Softball makes trip to Yale for weekend series

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball returns to Ivy League play with a three-game series at Yale over the weekend. The Bears will play a doubleheader on Saturday (April 2) before playing a single game on Sunday (April 3).
Play will begin at 12:30 p.m. ET on both days and all three games are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+.

ABOUT BROWN
The Bears are 9-14 on the season after a sweep of Bryant in a midweek doubleheader but the Bears are just 1-5 in Ivy League play after two weekends.
Katie O'Leary finished the doubleheader against Bryant with eight RBIs, including seven RBIs in the second game of the day, going 3-for-4 with two doubles. O'Leary now leads the team in batting average (.375), RBI (15), and on base percentage (.519). The senior is also tied for the team lead with four doubles and has two home runs.
Lauren Innerst threw a complete game in the win over Bryant in game two. Innerst threw a career-high 11 strikeouts in just five innings. It was the most strikeouts by a Bear in the last ten years. Innerst is tied for the team lead with Alexis Guevara in both wins (3) and strikeouts (32).
Erin Elgas leads the team with a 0.32 ERA, having allowed just one earned run in 22 innings pitched this season.
Elayna Tsiouplis is on a six-game hitting-streak, the longest for a Bear this season. Tsiouplis has a .288 batting average with 15 hits, three doubles, two home runs and nine RBIs on the season.
Leah Carey is a perfect 9-for-9 on the base paths and leads the team with 13 runs scored.
Kat Clum leads the Bears with 18 hits and is hitting .277 on the season. Clum is second on the team with four doubles and has eight RBIs on the year.
Brianna Rodriguez is hitting .324 on the year with 11 hits and a team-high five doubles.
Brown's pitching staff leads the Ivy League with a 3.45 ERA and .250 opponent batting average on the season. Brown has given up the fewest runs (78) and the fewest earned runs (56) in the Ivy League. The Bears are also tied for second in the league with 95 strikeouts.
SCOUTING YALE
Yale enters the weekend 5-14 and 3-3 in Ivy League play. The Bulldogs have lost two straight games, game three of their series against Dartmouth and a midweek contest to Fairfield.
Sam Goodcase leads the team with a .408 batting average and 20 hits on the season. Maddie Latta is second on the team with 16 hits and leads the team with five home runs and eight RBIs.
Latta has the best ERA on the staff at 4.99 and Nicole Conway is second on the team at 5.09. Conway has made the most starts (11) on the year. Latta leads the staff with 31 strikeouts in 40.2 innings pitched.
