- Ray Sass also tallied a hit for Brown.
- Jack Seppings made his collegiate debut in relief, striking out five of the batters he faced over two perfect innings.

- South Florida's Jack Jasiak (7.0 IP) and Hunter Mink (2.0 IP) combined on a two-hit shutout for the Bulls with 16 strikeouts and one walk, including retiring 16 consecutive batters to end the game.
- The Bulls got on the board in the second inning, putting men at the corners with one out and taking a 1-0 lead on a sac fly to right field.
- Sass singled and stole second with one out in the third before getting stranded.
- Morphew led off the fourth inning with a towering triple to deep right center field, and Ryan Marra walked and stole second with two outs to put two men in scoring position, but both runners were left stranded following an inning-ending strikeout.
- USF tacked on two insurance runs in the fifth courtesy of a solo homer with one out and a two-out RBI single.
- From there, Brown pitchers retired the final 10 USF batters of the game, with Olsen coming on in relief with two out in the fifth, and Seppings dominating the final two frames by striking out the side in his first collegiate inning in the seventh, and striking out two more in the eighth.
QUOTES FROM THE COACH
- "Jack (Seppings) looked sharp out there. Once he got the first at bat behind him, I knew he'd settle in. I'm really proud of how he threw the ball tonight."
- "We had some tough at bats tonight. The pitcher gave us some fastballs that we didn't do anything with at times, and when the zone expanded as the game went along, their pitchers did a great job pitching to that."
- "Our defense made some great plays tonight, but we didn't do a good job of capitalizing on our opportunities. We had chances and had them on the ropes in the fourth inning, but couldn't push anything across."
The same two teams will square off again tomorrow evening at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Tobey McDonough will get the ball against the Bulls' Brad Lord.
