Midweek Baseball Game with Bryant Moved to Wednesday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Due to expected frigid temperatures, Tuesday's midweek in-state baseball showdown between Brown and Bryant will now be played on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. at Murray Stadium.

SCOUTING BROWN (4-10, 1-2 Ivy)
Brown is coming off its Ivy League opening series this past weekend, where they won the middle game of a three game series at Dartmouth, rallying to take Saturday's nightcap 4-2 thanks to a four-run eighth inning. The Bears opened up their home schedule last weekend with a doubleheader split, taking down Holy Cross 9-4 and falling 8-2 to Northeastern.
Nathan Brasher went 5-for-12 at the plate over the weekend for Brown with three RBIs. Derian Morphew enters Wednesday's matchup on a four-game hitting streak after going 5-for-13 this weekend with two runs and a pair of doubles. Ryan Marra transitioned into the leadoff spot for the first time this weekend and went 5-for-12 at the plate.
SCOUTING BRYANT (8-12, 2-1 NEC)
Bryant is coming off a 2-1 weekend to open up NEC play at home against LIU. The Bulldogs are 3-3 against ranked opponents this season, sweeping a series from then-No. 12 East Carolina to open the season, and getting swept three straight by then-No. 24 Old Dominion earlier this month.
As a team, Bryant is hitting .209 this season, while posting a 5.37 ERA on the mound and holding opponents to a .207 batting average.
Senior outfielder Matt Woods holds a .324 batting average with 10 RBIs and a team-leading six doubles. Moving into the third spot in the batting order this weekend, junior first baseman Alex Lane has played in all but one game this season, leading the Bulldogs with a .333 average and is tied for the team lead with 11 RBIs.
Liam LeVangie, Bryant's expected starting pitcher, has made five appearances so far this season, including one start, has allowed six earned runs and 13 hits while striking out 12 over 7.2 innings of work. He tossed 3.0 innings and allowed one run on three hits in his lone start this year against Hartford.
After Wednesday's matchup, Brown will return to Ivy play this weekend with a three game series at Harvard starting on Saturday.
