Women's water polo picks up three wins on day two of Bruno Classic

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's water polo collected three wins on day two of the Bruno Classic and are now 4-0 overall in the tournament. Zoe King finished with back-to-back four-goal games for Brown.
GAME 1 – Brown 9, La Salle 8
In the first game of the day, Brown came back from a 4-1 deficit to earn a 9-8 win over La Salle. Siena Berry led the way for Brown with three goals and Lily Weiser finished the game with two.
The Bears managed just one goal from Weiser in the first quarter, trailing 3-1 after the first frame.
La Salle added a goal early in the second to take its largest lead of the game and after Berry's first goal, added another one at the 6:43 mark to go up 5-2. Weiser tallied her second goal of the game to make it 5-3 at the half.
The third quarter belonged to the Bears as Brown picked up a goal from Katie Klein and two from Berry to pull even at 6-6 heading to the fourth quarter.
Claire Pisani scored early in the fourth to give Brown one-goal lead before La Salle tied the game with 2:34 on the clock. With 1:10 left in the game, Zoe King pulled Brown ahead with a goal and Tallulah Clancy gave Brown an insurance goal 30 seconds later.
Shauna Franke finished the game with seven saves to earn her second win of the year.
GAME 2 – Brown 9, Pomona-Pitzer 8 F/OT
Brown came back in the second game of the day with three goals in the second overtime to beat Pomona-Pitzer 9-8. Zoe King finished the game with four goals for the Bears.
Katharine Knowles scored a goal in the first and King scored two in the second as the game was tied 3-3 at the half. Brown took at 5-4 lead after the three quarters with goals by King and Claire Poissonnier.
King's fourth goal of the game put Brown up 6-4 with 4:50 left in the game. Pomona-Pitzer tied the game with goals at 1:50 and 13 seconds left.
Pomona-Pitzer scored two goals under a minute left in the first overtime period putting the pressure on the Bears. Claire Pisani and Katie Klein tied up the game in the second overtime period and with just over a minute left, Sierra Martin scored to give Brown the game winning goal.
Franke collected 10 saves in the win for the Bears
GAME 3 – Brown 15, Siena 7
King had her second four-goal game of the night as Brown beat Sienna 15-7 to close out the day. Pisani added three goals for the Bears and Weiser, Martin and Clancy each scored two.
Audrey Gallagher had four saves in her first-career game in goal for the Bears.
Brown jumped out early with a 6-1 first quarter that featured goals from Weiser, King, Martin, Clancy and two goals from Pisani.
After losing the second quarter, 3-2, Brown posted another 6-1 quarter after halftime to take full control of the game. King scored twice in the third and Brown also got goals from Weiser, Martin, Pisani and Emily Suong.
UP NEXT
Brown will play in two more matches on Sunday to close out play at the Bruno Classic. The Bears will take on Long Island at 9 a.m. and will finish the tournament against Wagner at 1:30 p.m.
