Brown to Host Rumble & Tumble Quad Meet Sunday Afternoon

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown gymnastics team is set to host the Rumble & Tumble on Sunday afternoon. The event will feature the Bears' gymnastics program hosting a quad meet, while the wrestling team will host senior day and square off against Sacred Heart for a dual meet, held simultaneously side-by-side at the Pizzitola Sports Center. Start time for both events are set for 1 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Gymnastics will compete against LIU, Rhode Island College and Southern Connecticut State.

Last weekend, Brown scored 191.625 points in a dual meet loss at New Hampshire. The score was the Bears' second-highest of the season behind their 192.875-point performance at a quad meet at West Chester on Feb. 5.
Senior Mei Li Costa broke the Brown program record on bars at West Chester with a score of 9.925 to earn the GEC Performance of the Week. Freshman Julia Bedell was named the GEC Newcomer of the Week after strong performances in three vents, including finishing second on bars behind Costa with a score of 9.750, in addition to posting a 9.675 score on beam and 9.825 on floor.
Last week at New Hampshire, Brown posted a season-high of 48.650 on vault with two athletes setting new career-highs, and one posting a season-high. Bedell led the Bears with her third place floor performance. Costa finished second overall on bars to lead Brown, while the two tied for the team lead and third overall on vault. Freshman Taylor Schulze led Brown on the beam with a score of 9.775, and also set a new collegiate PR on bars (9.675).
ON DECK
Next weekend, the Bears will head to Yale on Sunday, February 27 to face off against Yale, Cornell and Penn at the Ivy Classic. Meet time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
