Men's Hockey Hosts Boston College Tuesday Night at Meehan

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (3-6-1, 1-6-1 ECAC) host the Boston College Eagles (4-5-2, 4-3-1 HEA) on Tuesday night at Meehan Auditorium. Tomorrow night's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and on Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters Tuesday after posting consecutive non-conference wins over Holy Cross (Nov. 25) and eighth-ranked Providence (Nov. 26) over the holiday weekend. The Bears took a 3-0 win over the Crusaders and a 3-2 road win over the Friars.
- Goaltender Mathieu Caron earned ECAC Goaltender of the Week honors following his performances this weekend. The Abbottsford, British Columbia native recorded 24 saves in the shutout against Holy Cross and 35 saves against PC.
- Through 10 games this season, Caron holds a 2.48 goals against average and .924 save percentage. His save percentage ranks 15th in the NCAA.
- Freshman Ryan Bottrill leads the team with three goals this season and enters Tuesday with a two-game goal streak. He is tied for the team-lead in points with six alongside Cole Quisenberry (2-4-6).
- Brown's power play clicks at 13.3% with four goals in 30 attempts. Brown's penalty kill enters Tuesday at 75.0% (36-48).
- Boston College enters Tuesday with a 4-5-2 overall record and 4-3-1 Hockey East mark. The Eagles are receiving votes in the most recent USCHO.com poll.
- BC most recently fell 5-2 at home against Notre Dame (Nov. 25), snapping a two-game conference win streak.
- Against common opponents, the Eagles suffered a 4-0 loss against Quinnipiac in the 2022-23 season-opener.
- Cutter Gauthier leads BC with six goals through 11 games. Lukas Gustafsson leads the team with eight assists and Trevor Kuntar leads the team in points (10).
- BC's power play ranks 18th in the NCAA with 10 goals in 44 attempts (22.7%).
- Mitch Benson, a Colgate transfer, has started all 11 games this season and holds a 3.01 goals against average and .906 save percentage.
- BC's penalty kill is tied for 13th in the NCAA with an 85% kill-rate (34-40).
- Tuesday night marks the 75th meeting between Brown and Boston College in a series dating back to 1933.
- Boston College owns the series lead, 49-18-7, and took a 5-2 win in last season's meeting at Conte Forum.
- Brown blocked a season-high 25 shots in the 3-2 win over Providence, marking a season-high. Nine players recorded multiple blocks against the Friars.
- Brown last blocked 25 shots in a November 2014 loss at Dartmouth.
