QUOTES FROM THE COACH: MELANIE RUZZI
- "I think it's an eye-opener for our first-years. I believe the ECAC is the strongest conference in country and they saw that with the pace of this game. It was a step forward from last weekend and demanded more out of them with attention to detail and taking care of the puck. It was a good learning environment and I thought we got better as the game went along."
- "On our first goal of the game, we were stuck in our defensive zone for a while, clamoring to clear the zone and Anna Hurd finally cleared the zone and beat her defenseman at the end of her shift. There is another level of confidence coming out of these women. To see her come through once again by turning blocked shots into goals is huge for us."
- "(Kaley Doyle) was really challenged by their offense. She continues to make it look easy, but it's because she plays big and stays calm. She takes care of the front of the net and communicates, and starts our breakouts. She is a great leader for this team from the back end."
- "Across the board, our wings were playing lockdown defense. Players were buying in. Anna Shelden played really important roles that we need in order to have success this year. Our lineup needs to step up and do their job. You have to applaud the effort on the road. It's little plays that don't appear on the scoresheet that make a big difference for this team."
