Brown's third win in a row moves the Bears to 3-0-1 on the season. Harvard entered Saturday's game receiving votes in both the USCHO Poll and USA Today/College Hockey Magazine Poll.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sophomore Olivia Williamson scored her first career goal just over one minute into the game on the power play.
- Sikich scored the game-winner in sudden death for her first of the season.
- Cassidy Piersiak, India McDadi and Maya Mangiafico all picked up assists.
- Sophomore Kaley Doyle made a career-high 44 saves for the Bears, topping her previous career-best of 40 against Yale from Jan. 30, 2022.
- Brown was 2-for-3 on the power play, and killed off all four of their shorthanded situations.
- The Crimson outshot Brown by a 45-32 margin.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bears started the game on the power play after a delay of game penalty and capitalized right away as Williamson took a pass from Piersiak in the neutral zone, skated it in and let go a wrist shot from the high slot that went into the top left corner for the early 1-0 lead.
- Harvard tied it later in the first at 12:17 on a goal from Paige Lester.
- Harvard outshot Brown 29-24 over a scoreless final two periods.
- In overtime, McDadi drew a slashing call in the defensive zone to send the Bears back on the power play just under two minutes in.
- Brown controlled the play for much of the 4-on-3 advantage and ended it with the game-winner at the 3:10 mark. McDadi fed Sikich, who carried the puck across the high slot and let go a wrist shot that found its way through a screen in front that was set by Madie Stockfish to light the lamp.
