Women’s Hockey to Open Up ECAC Play this Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Off to a 1-0-1 start to the season, the Brown women's hockey team will open up ECAC play with a pair of road games this weekend at Dartmouth on Friday, and Harvard on Saturday.

Next weekend, the Bears will host a pair of ranked foes in Princeton and Quinnipiac on November 4 and 5, respectively.

SCOUTING BROWN: 1-0-1 (0-0-0 ECAC)
- Brown gave up a goal late in regulation and skated to a 2-2 tie against Stonehill in last Friday's season opener, before rebounding and topping the Skyhawks 3-1 on the road on Saturday.
- Freshman forward Jade Iginla was named the ECAC's Co-Rookie of the Week after scoring three points in the two games, including one goal in each game.
- Freshman forward India McDadi scored a key insurance goal late in the third period of Saturday's win for her first career tally.
- Junior Jess Ciarrocchi picked up an assist in both games.
- First-year goaltender Mégane Pilon made 18 saves to win her collegiate debut on Saturday.
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH (0-1-0, 0-1-0 ECAC)
- Dartmouth fell 3-0 on the road in last Friday's season-opener at Harvard.
- Dartmouth returns 17 players from last year's team, including 13 forwards.
- The team boasts five seniors, five juniors, and seven sophomores.
- Dartmouth finished the 2021-22 campaign with a 9-19-1 overall record, including 3-18-1 in ECAC play.
SCOUTING HARVARD (1-1-0, 1-1-0 ECAC)
- The Crimson opened the season with a pair of home games, falling to No. 7 Quinnipiac 5-2 on October 15 and topping Dartmouth 3-0 last Friday.
- Harvard is currently receiving votes in the USCHO and the USA Today/College Hockey Magazine Top 15 polls.
- The Crimson will host Yale on Friday evening before welcoming Brown on Saturday.
- Seven different players picked up points against Dartmouth.
- Sophomore goaltender Alex Pellicci made 26 saves for her second career shutout. Through two games, she holds a 2.50 GAA and .936 save percentage.
- Senior forward Anne Bloomer leads the Crimson with four points off two goals and two assists, with Kristin Della Rovere adding two goals and one assist.
- Sophomore defensemen Mia Biotti and Eleanor Winges have two assists each.
