Men's Hockey Hosts 11th-Ranked Cornell Tuesday at Meehan Auditorium

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown Bears (4-14-0, 4-8-0 ECAC) host the ninth-ranked Cornell Big Red (13-4-3, 8-2-3 ECAC) Tuesday afternoon at Meehan Auditorium.
Tuesday's game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+ in the United States and through Stretch Internet internationally.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown enters Tuesday with a 4-14-0 overall record and 4-8-0 ECAC conference mark. The Bears sit in 10th in the conference standings with 13 league points.
- Brown fell 6-1 at Princeton last Friday (Jan. 28) before dropping a 4-3 non-conference game to LIU on Sunday (Jan. 30) at Meehan Auditorium.
- Senior forwards Justin Jallen and Michael Maloney lead the team with five goals apiece. Jallen leads the team in assists alongside junior defensemen Luke Krys and Samuli Niinisaari. Jallen, a native of St. Paul, Minnesota, leads the team with 11 points.
- Between the pipes, Mathieu Caron leads Brown netminders with a 3.18 goals against average, a .902 save percentage, and two shutouts.
- Cornell enters Tuesday's game with a 13-4-3 overall record and 8-2-3 ECAC conference mark and rank 11th in the nation per the DCU/USCHO.com poll.
- The Big Red skated to consecutive 2-2 ties last weekend at Lynah Rink in conference games against Harvard and Dartmouth. Cornell lost both shootouts to miss out on the extra league point.
- Matt Stienburg leads the team with nine goals and 21 points. He ranks fifth in the NCAA with 1.31 points per game.
- Cornell's offense as a whole averages 3.50 goals per game to rank second in the ECAC and eighth in the NCAA.
- Cornell is strong defensively, allowing 2.30 goals per game to rank second in the conference and 12th in the nation.
- Ian Shane leads Cornell netminders with a 1.62 goals against average and a .937 save percentage. His save percentage ranks third and goals against average ranks fifth in the NCAA.
- Tuesday afternoon marks the 135th meeting between Brown and Cornell in a series dating back to 1959.
- Cornell holds a 83-43-8 record against Brown in the series, but only a 33-25-4 record at Meehan Auditorium.
