Women’s Hockey to Face No. 8/7 Yale in Home-and-Home this Weekend

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Fresh off a 2-1 victory over Union on Tuesday night, Brown women's hockey will welcome No. 8/7 Yale to Meehan Auditorium on Friday night. Both teams will then square off on Sunday in New Haven at 3 p.m. in a game that was originally scheduled for Saturday, but has been moved to Sunday due to the impending snowstorm. Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Brown will hit the road once again next weekend to face Union on Friday, Feb. 4 and Dartmouth on Feb. 5.
SCOUTING BROWN (3-16-2, 3-10-1 ECAC)
- Brown is coming off a 2-1 victory over Union on Tuesday night at home. Senior Shay Maloney and grad student Megan Forrest each had a goal and an assist for Brown with Forrest roofing in the game-winner 90 seconds into the third period.
- Maloney leads Brown with eight goals and 13 points.
- Forrest now has at least one point in each of the last three games.
- Sophomore Kaley Doyle has been cutch between the pipes for the Bears, making 87 saves on 92 shots over the last three games.
- Brown is averaging 1.6 goals per game and allowing 3.2 goals per game this season, compared to their last full season (2019-20), when they scored just 1.1 goals and allowed 4.1 goals per contest.
- Brown holds an all-time record of 61-25-3 against the Bulldogs.
SCOUTING YALE (15-4-1, 9-3-1 ECAC)
- Winners of four in a row, including a 3-0 win over then-No. 6 Colgate last Friday night, Yale is ranked No. 8 in the country in this week's USCHO Poll and No. 7 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll.
- The 78 total goals scored by the Bulldogs is second in the ECAC this season, trailing only the 95 scored by Colgate. Yale leads the conference in goals allowed, having let in just 27 all season.
- Yale has allowed just one goal during its four-game streak, outscoring opponents 16-1 during that span.
- Yale is outscoring its opponents 3.9-1.4 this season, and is 18-for-61 on the power play.
- The Bulldogs are tied for second in the ECAC standings with Clarkson at 28.5 points apiece.
- Elle Hartje leads Yale with 11 goals. She also ranks fourth in the conference in both assist (21) and points (32).
- Claire Dalton boasts 22 assists while Rebecca Vanstone also has double digit goals with 10.
- Gianna Meloni has seen the bulk of the action between the pipes for Yale this year, holding a 9-2 record with a 1.36 GAA and .941 save percentage to go with four shutouts.
Brown will hit the road once again next weekend to face Union on Friday, Feb. 4 and Dartmouth on Feb. 5.
