Kirk Posts Season-High 14 in Saturday Setback to Princeton

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown (5-10, 0-3 Ivy) guard Grace Kirk posted a season-high 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting and Isabella Mauricio reached double figures for the 10th time this season with 11 points in Saturday's 72-39 setback to Princeton (11-4, 3-0 Ivy) in the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Kirk came off the bench and drained both of her triples and added an assist and steal, and Mauricio connected on two from long distance. Eleven of Kirk's 14 came in the second half. Fiona Finn pulled down six rebounds, the most since March 7, 2020 (vs. Dartmouth).
Princeton - ranked No. 40 in NET - got off to a 17-2 start and led 24-8 through the first quarter. The Bears clamped down on defense in the second and limited the Tigers to 5-of-19 shooting to close the opening stanza.
Mauricio recorded 10 of her 11 points in the first half.
"I really like the way we played in the second quarter," said head coach Monique LeBlanc. "We contested a lot better and made it tough to score."
Princeton was hot in the second half and defeated Brown in the homestand finale 72-39.
