Men’s Soccer to Host Bryant Wednesday Night for Home Opener

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Following a season-opening victory over Hartford on Friday night, the Brown men's soccer team will play its first game at the newly renovated Stevenson-Pincince Field on Wednesday night, hosting Bryant in the team's home opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets online at BrownBears.com/tickets prior to their arrival at Stevenson-Pincince Field. Brown Athletics has moved to completely contactless ticketing, so fans should either download their digital tickets to display on a mobile device or print them at home prior to arrival.

SCOUTING BROWN (1-0)
- Senior Derek Waleffe scored both of Brown's goals off corner kicks in the 13th and 57th minutes.
- Senior captain Will Crain, senior Malcolm Johnson and freshman Kyle Gee all registered assists for Brown.
- Senior James Swomley stopped all three shots he faced for his fifth career shutout.
- Brown was tabbed to finish sixth in the Ivy League preseason poll.
SCOUTING BRYANT (0-3)
- The Bulldogs are in search of their first win of the season, dropping each of their first three games of the season to UConn (3-0), Northeastern (3-2 – 2OT) and Siena (2-0).
- The Bulldogs are averaging 12.3 shots per game, and are putting just over half of their attempts (.514) on goal.
- Grad student Aaron Madison and sophomore Keegan Reim scored the Bulldogs' two goals this season. Sophomore forward Barnaby Brandon and midfielder Matt Supczak have the two assists.
- Freshman Luca Marinelli has started two of the three matches in goal, making three saves. Grad student Jack Bacon played the entire match against Northeastern, making four saves in the double-OT defeat.
- Bryant went 2-2-2 overall in a COVID-abbreviated 2021 spring season. They were picked sixth in the Northeast Conference preseason poll.
