Field Hockey Travels to Vermont for Sunday Clash with Catamounts

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown field hockey team travels north for its first road game of the season to take on the Vermont Catamounts (3-2, 0-0 AE) Sunday afternoon at Moulton-Winder Field in Burlington.

Sunday's game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. and will stream on America East TV.

SCOUTING BROWN (3-0)

Brown won its third straight game to start the season with a 5-1 victory over Bryant yesterday afternoon at Goldberger Family Field.
Danielle van Rootselaar finished the game against Bryant with two goals and an assist with nine shots on goal to continue her strong start to the season. As a whole, Brown's offense has seen eight players record at least a point.
Junior goalkeeper Jodie Brine is 3-0 to start the season with a 0.74 goals against average and .800 save percentage. Brown's defense has allowed just 10 shots on goal through the first three games of the season.

SCOUTING VERMONT (3-2)

Vermont began the season with a 3-0 win over Sacred Heart (Aug. 28) before losses at Syracuse (Aug. 29) and at UMass (Sept. 3). Since then, the Catamounts claimed a 3-2 win over Holy Cross (Sept. 7) and a 2-1 win over Hofstra (Sept. 10).
Senior Clodagh Ferry leads the team in scoring with four goals and nine points. Nine Catamounts have recorded at least a point through five games.
Redshirt senior Sierra Espeland has played every minute in goal for UVM this season. She holds a .707 save percentage and 2.38 goals against average.
UVM has used the same starting line-up in every game to this point of the season.

INSIDE THE SERIES

Brown boasts a 14-9 all-time record against Vermont in a series dating back to 1986. The Bears had won three straight against the Cats before falling in 2019 at Vermont.
