Women’s Hockey Set for Midweek Battle at UConn

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Coming off a 3-3 tie on Saturday evening at Cornell, the Brown women's hockey team will hit the ice for a midweek matchup on Tuesday evening at UConn at 6:30 p.m. At 10-1 overall and 6-1 in Hockey East, the Huskies are receiving votes and sit just outside the top 10 of the latest USCHO Poll.

Looking ahead, Brown will return home for two games this weekend, starting with Dartmouth on Friday at 6 pm., and followed by Harvard on Saturday at 3 p.m.
SCOUTING BROWN
- Brown went 0-1-1 this past weekend in a pair of ECAC contests at then-No. 4 Colgate and Cornell.
- Senior center Shay Maloney scored a goal in each game for Brown, while freshman forward Anna Hurd picked up another assist on Friday at Colgate and leads the Bears with six points.
- Hurd and Maloney lead the team with three goals apiece.
- Cameron Sikich assisted on both the game-tying and go-ahead goals in the third period at Cornell on Saturday. She now leads the squad with four helpers on the season.
- Brown held a 3-2 lead with just over four minutes to play on Saturday at Cornell before the Big Red tied it with 1:30 remaining in regulation. Brown outshot Cornell 6-1 in overtime, but was unbale to find the back of the net.
SCOUTING UCONN
- Winners of 10 of their first 11 games and three in a row, UConn is 4-0 against non-conference foes this season, sweeping a pair of two-game sets against LIU and RIT.
- The Huskies are scoring 2.6 goals per game this season while allowing just 1.5 goals against. UConn is 6-for-38 on the power play this year, but has only allowed opponents to score three times on the power play on 23 chances.
- Twelve different Huskies have goals this season, led by Viki Harkness with five. Natalie Snodgrass has four goals and five assists to co-lead the Huskies with nine points. Defenseman Taylor Wabick is tied with the team lead with nine points, all coming by way of assists.
- Forward Danielle Fox adds four goals and four assists.
- In goal, Samantha Carpentier-Yelle has made nine starts and holds a 1.56 GAA and .924 save percentage. Megan Warrener has made eight appearances, including two starts in non-conference play, holding a 1.00 GAA and .949 save percentage, posting a 2-0 record with one shutout against LIU.
