
Women’s Hockey to Host Pair of Non-Conference Matchups this Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown women's hockey is set to host a pair of non-conference matchups this week in the team's final two home games before the holiday break. Brown will welcome Merrimack on Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m., followed by Providence College for the Mayor's Cup on Saturday at 2 p.m.
SCOUTING BROWN (1-8-2, 1-6-1 ECAC)

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE (4-5-4, 3-4-2 Hockey East)
After this weekend's action, Brown will travel to Saint Anselm on December 2 and Holy Cross on December 10 before a nearly one-month long break over the holidays.
SCOUTING BROWN (1-8-2, 1-6-1 ECAC)
- Sophomore Anna Hurd leads the Bears with seven points (3g, 4a) and senior forward Shay Maloney adds three goals and three assists. Both have been a part of Brown's top line this season.
- Cassidy Piersiak and Cameron Sikich lead the Bears with four assists apiece.
- Lizzy Gross and Maya Mangiafico are also tied for third on the squad with four points, each registering two goals and two assists.
- Sophomore Kaley Doyle and senior Haley Kliczko have split time in goal for the Bears this season, with Doyle receiving six starts and Kilczko five.
SCOUTING MERRIMACK (4-11-1, 4-7-1 Hockey East)
- The Warriors enter the matchup with a 4-11-1 overall record and a 4-7-1 mark in Hockey East play.
- Averaging 2.1 goals and 23.3 shots on goal per game, Merrimack is coming off a pair of losses, one of which came in overtime, to Vermont over the weekend.
- Wednesday's clash marks the Warriors' first game against an ECAC opponent this season.
- Teghan Inglis and Katie Kaufman lead the way with 10 points, each with seven goals and three assists.
- Courtney Maud has a team-high six assists and is third with nine points.
- Between the pipes, Emma Gorski has made 15 starts while appearing in all 16 games and holds a 3.13 GAA and .899 save percentage.
SCOUTING PROVIDENCE (4-5-4, 3-4-2 Hockey East)
- The Friars are averaging 1.7 goals per game this season and are outshooting opponents 33.3-30.9 on average.
- PC's last five games have all been decided by one goal or less, earning one win, two losses and a pair of shootout victories over that stretch. Three of their four wins have come at home.
- PC is 6-for-34 on the power play this season, but are 37-for-41 on the penalty kill.
- Sandra Abstreiter has started nine of the team's 13 games in goal, holding a 1.86 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage.
- Lindsay Bochna leads the team with six goals and 10 points through the first 13 games. Hayley Lunny is second on the team with three goals, and is tied for the team lead with five assists. Brooke Becker and Claire Tyo also have five assists this season.
