
Men’s Swimming & Diving Set for the Ivy League Championships Wednesday-Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's swimming & diving team is ready to compete in the 2020 Ivy League Men's Swimming & Diving Championships Wednesday, Feb. 26 through Saturday, Feb. 29 at Blodgett Pool on Harvard's campus. Prelims begin at 11:00 a.m. while finals will start at 6:00 p.m. (Thurs. - Sat.). The preliminaries and finals from Thursday - Saturday will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

BROWN SEASON HIGHLIGHTS
First-year head coach Kevin Norman guided the Bears to a 4-4 overall record and a 3-4 Ivy mark, which included a win over Columbia, the program's first since 2010. Brown broke a total of six records during the regular season in the 200 breaststroke (Ben Hayes), 400 IM (Ben Hayes), 500 freestyle (Michael Lincoln), 400 medley relay (Joon Sung, Coley Sullivan, I.I. Qiao, Cody Cline), 800 freestyle relay (Cline, Lincoln, Alex Smilenov, Sullivan) and the 3M (Trevor Labuda). Sung, Lincoln, Sullivan and Smilenov also broke the 400 freestyle relay Teagle Pool record at Cornell on Jan. 25 to close out the regular season.
2019 AT IVIES
The Bears finished sixth at the 2019 Ivy League Championships at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center with 884 points. Brown broke a total of 11 school records which included the 50 freestyle (Cody Cline), 100 freestyle (Cline), 100 backstroke (Coley Sullivan), 200 freestyle (Cline), 200 IM (Sullivan), 400 IM (Alex Park), 200 medley relay (Joon Sung, Sullivan, I.I. Qiao, Alex Smilenov), 200 freestyle relay (Cline, Sung, Sullivan, Smilenov), 400 medley relay (Sullivan, Max Pokutta, Nicholas Brown, Cline), 400 freestyle relay (Cline, Sullivan, Michael Lincoln, Smilenov), 800 freestyle relay (Cline, Sung, Lincoln, Smilenov). Harvard won its third-straight championship last year with Princeton (1,209.5), Penn (1,120.5), Columbia (1,037) and Yale (1035.5) following.
BROWN NAMED CSCAA SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAM
The Bears recorded the second highest GPA for an Ivy League school, tying Yale, and had the eighth highest cumulative grade point average overall in earning CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors in an announcement by the organization on Jan. 29. To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the fall semester.
