LAST TIME OUT
Brown picked up an 18-8 victory over Siena in its home opener on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Bears outscored the Saints 12-3 in the second half en route their win. Sophomore Sophia DeRosa led the second half charge with a career-high six goals, all scored in the second frame. After scoring the game's first goal, Siena didn't hold a lead again until 18:21 of the second half. Brown then proceeded to close out the contest with 11 unanswered goals for the win.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College is ranked 17th in the IWLCA Coaches Poll with a 2-2 overall record. The Eagles fell in their last matchup, 18-9, at No. 13 USC on Friday. Boston College boasts wins over Boston University (16-6, Feb. 12) and Vanderbilt (15-12, Feb. 16) this season with its other loss coming at UMass (15-11, Feb. 8). Charlotte North leads the team in scoring with 21 points on 16 goals and five assists while Jenn Medjid is second with 14 points on 11 goals and three helpers. Rachel Hall has started all four of BC's games in net and has a 12.78 goals-against average and a .457 save percentage.
ALL-TIME VS. BOSTON COLLEGE
Brown holds the all-time series edge against Boston College with an 18-10 record. The two teams last played in 2018 with the Eagles earning a 22-12 win in Newton, Mass. The Bears last claimed a victory in 2006, a 10-7 decision.

Junior Risa Mosenthal leads the Bears in scoring with eight points on seven goals and one assist. Sophomore Sophia DeRosa is tied with Mosenthal for the team's goal lead with seven, six of which were scored in an 18-8 win over Siena last Tuesday. Sophomore Claire Jeschke (5-1-6) and junior Maggie Fowler (2-4-6) are tied for third in scoring. Defensively, sophomore Kelsey Shea is tied with three other players with two caused turnovers while she paces Brown in ground balls (4). Sophomore Erin Tucker has started both games in net and has a 7.50 goals-against average and a .423 save percentage.
CENTER FOR LACROSSE AND SOCCER
Brown unveiled its new Center for Lacrosse and Soccer at Stevenson-Pincince Field on Tuesday, Feb. 18. A premier facility for lacrosse and soccer that will enhance both the team and game day experience and replaces the existing press box and stands in the same location. The approximately 22,500 square foot building has a grandstand to accommodate 1,250 people, as well as concessions and restrooms located on the concourse level. The building will have event space for game-day hosting and team gatherings, new staff and team locker rooms, a training room, and players will have direct access to the field through a tunnel.

The Bears are scheduled to play a total of six ranked opponents in 2020 based on this week's IWLCA rankings (No. 1 UNC, No. 8 Florida, No. 12 Penn, No. 13 Princeton, No. 16 Dartmouth, No. 23 Virginia Tech).
CHASING CAREER MARKS
A 2019 First Team All-Ivy selection, junior Risa Mosenthal is chasing multiple program records. The Campton, N.H. native has recorded 113 goals and 18 assists for 131 points. Her 113 goals are third-best at Brown while her 51 goals scored in 2019 are third highest for a season. She broke the school mark for goals in a game with nine against Fresno State on March 31, 2019, which also tied the Ivy League record. Having recorded a point in 31 games played, Mosenthal is chasing the record for consecutive games with a point, which is 40, set by Lauren Becker '87.
FOWLER WITH THE HELP
Junior Maggie Fowler is currently ninth all-time at Brown in career assists with 38. Her 23 assists in 2019 led the team a year ago. The Bethesda, Md. native paces the Bears this season in assists with four.
MOSENTHAL NAMED TO TEWAARATON WATCH LIST
Junior attack Risa Mosenthal was named to the Tewaaraton Watch List, announced by the organization on Feb. 13. A First Team All-Ivy selection in 2019, Mosenthal has led the Bears in scoring for two-straight seasons and registered 59 points on 51 goals and eight assists a year ago. She broke the school record for goals in a game with nine against Fresno State (Mar. 31), which also tied the Ivy League record. Mosenthal led the conference in goals per game (3.64) and was sixth in points per game (4.21) last season. As a freshman, Mosenthal was named Second Team All-Ivy and earned a spot on the Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie Team while leading the Bears in points (64) and goals (55). Her 55 goals were second best all-time at Brown for a season while her 64 points are third highest. The Tewaaraton Award is given annually to the most outstanding American college lacrosse player. The 20th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held May 28, 2020 at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC.
THREE IVIES RANKED IN NATIONAL POLL
The Ivy League - a consistent factor in the national women's lacrosse landscape - boasts a trio of ranked teams in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Coaches Poll. Penn (12), Princeton (13) and Dartmouth (16) are ranked in the polls.
IVY LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
The 2020 Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Tournament will be held at the site of the top seed on May 1 and 3 with the top four teams advancing to postseason play.
THE IVY LEAGUE ON ESPN+

PRESEASON IVY LEAGUE POLL
Brown was selected to finish fifth with 57 points in the 2020 Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Preseason Poll. Princeton was predicted to finish first with 13 first-place votes and 125 points while Penn followed in second with three first-place votes and 112 points. Dartmouth (92 points) and Cornell (79 points) rounded out the top four while Harvard (48 points), Yale (36 points) and Columbia (27 points) finished sixth through eighth.
BEARS WELCOME EIGHT NEWCOMERS
Brown added eight players to its 2020 roster. The freshmen include: attack Nathalie Ahn, midfielder Essie Atherton, midfielder Lydia Bongiorno, attack Lily Hagerup, midfielder Emmie Lau, midfielder Mia Mascone, attack Gabby Sartori and defender Katie Silver.
2019 RECAP
Brown went 8-7 overall in 2019 and finished tied for fourth with Cornell in the Ivy League standings with a 4-3 conference mark. A total of six Bears earned All-Ivy honors with Risa Mosenthal leading the group with First Team accolades. Mason Warble made the Second Team while Erin Schafer and Erin Tucker were picked Honorable Mention for the returning team members. Warble was also selected to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region Second Team after leading the Bears in caused turnovers (32) and ground balls (41). Her 32 caused turnovers are tied for fourth best in a season at Brown while her 41 ground balls are 15th. Warble ranked second in the conference in caused turnovers per game (2.13) and was fifth in ground balls per game (2.73).
BEARS' DEFENSE AMONG NATIONAL LEADERS
Brown ranked 11th in the country in 2019 caused turnovers per game, averaging 11.33. Junior Mason Warble led the defense with 32 caused turnovers while sophomore Erin Schafer (22) and senior Emily Fyrer (20) forced 20 or more turnovers.

The Bears return six of their top seven scorers from last season, with junior Risa Mosenthal leading the squad with 51 goals and eight assists for 59 points a year ago. Sophomore Erin Tucker returns between the pipes after earning Honorable Mention All-Ivy honors in 2019 while starting all 15 games in her rookie campaign. Tucker recorded an 11.54 goals-against average and a .428 save percentage and made double digit saves in eight games. She tallied a collegiate best 13 saves at Dartmouth and also added a career high six ground balls versus the Big Green. Junior Cait Barrett also returns after appearing in five games last season.
