
Women’s Hockey Welcomes Yale on Tuesday Night

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will close out the season series with Yale on Tuesday, Jan. 28, welcoming the Bulldogs for a 6:00 p.m. contest a Meehan Auditorium.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Yale is looking for its sixth-straight win when it enters Tuesday's matchup. The Bulldogs' last losses came at No. 2 Minnesota on Jan. 4 and 5 (L, 6-3; L, 4-1). Yale currently ranks third in the conference in the penalty kill (.902). Claire Dalton (8-12-20) and Elle Hartje (9-11-20) both lead the Bulldogs with 20 points. Emma Seitz is third in scoring with 19 points on three goals and a team-high 16 assists. Gianna Meloni has appeared in 11 games between the pipes and leads the team with a .904 save percentage while Tera Hofmann paces the two with a 2.13 goals-against average in 10 appearances. Hofmann also has all three of Yale's shutouts this season.
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Sophomore Shay Maloney leads the Bears in points (10) with a team-high five goals and five assists. Senior Maybelline Beiring is second in scoring with eight points on one goal and a team-best seven helpers. Beiring recorded a career-high three assists in Brown's last game versus Saint Anselm on Jan. 25. Calla Isaac leads the netminding group in games played (14) and a .911 save percentage. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native stopped a career-best 55 shots at Harvard on Nov. 1 and has recorded two shutouts this season (2-0 at RPI (35 saves), 1-0 vs. Saint Anselm (25 saves)). Isaac has recorded 40 or more saves four times this season and had gone over 30 stops in nine contests. Sophomore Hayley Kliczko has also seen significant time between the pipes with eight appearances. She registered a season-high 39 saves at Dartmouth on Nov. 2.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bears went 1-0-1 against Saint Anselm over the weekend to conclude their non-conference slate for the season. In game one, senior Calla Isaac recorded 25 saves for her second shutout of the season, third career, while sophomore Tina Paolillo scored the only goal and game winner at 11:03 of the third. In game two, sophomores Shay Maloney (PP), Jacquie Tam (PP) and Lizzy Gross scored a goal in each period to give Brown a 3-1 lead, but the Hawks would score two unanswered tallies in the remainder of the third to tie the contest, 3-3. Neither team could score in the bonus period as Brown outshot Saint Anselm, 3-1. The Bears' penalty kill went a combined 10-for-10 in the two-game series, including 7-for-7 on Friday.
LAST TIME VS. YALE
Brown was defeated by Yale, 3-1, on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at Ingalls Rink. The Bulldogs scored the game's opening goal in the first period and added two tallies in the second while the Bears received their goal from junior Kaitijane Blumberg in the third. Senior Calla Isaac concluded the night 41 saves for Brown while Gianna Meloni was credited with the win for Yale with 14 saves and Courtney DeNaut added six stops in the last 9:04 of action.
