NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Brown men's and women's track & field teams set a trio of top-10 program records at the Penn 8-Team Select meet Saturday in Staten Island, N.Y.

"We had another very solid meet," said head coach Tim Springfield. "There were some nice breakthroughs at 400m: Gracie Whelan had a huge effort in the open 400, and both relays executed very well. Bretram and Ijeoma continued their excellent seasons, and Mike Coppolino and Nigel Despanasse has significant PRs to lead the throws."
Â

Â
Lauren Stern (Mahwah, N.J.) was victorious in the triple jump with a winning leap of 39-3.75 for ninth in program history. Ijeoma Ucha (Lawrenceville, Ga.) also claimed first place in the long jump at 20-2.25.
Â
The 4x400 relay team of Maddie Frey (Waukesha, Wis.), Whelan, May Stern (Providence, R.I.) and Lily Dumas (Holden, Mass.) ran to a first-place finish with a time of 3:47.29.
Â

Â
Michael Coppolino (Cumberland, R.I.) won the weight throw at 62-11.25 and set a new personal best for fifth in program history. Nigel Despinasse (Baton Rouge, La.) also added a first-place performance in the shot put with a toss of 55-3.75.
