#16 Men’s Squash Drops 5-4 Match To #8 Virginia

Charlottesville, VA - The #16 Brown and #8 Virginia men's squash teams battled in a thrilling match Wednesday evening before the Bears fell to the Cavaliers, 5-4.
"What an awesome match." said head coach Stuart leGassick. "Thank you to all the parents who were cheering us on to almost achieve a big upset. We competed throughout the line up but just fell at 4-4."

After dropping teh first three matches, the middle of the lineup gave Brown a chance to win with wins at four through seven. Junior Andrew Wei ignited the Bears with a 3-1 win at number four. Freshman Ahmed Amin, playing number five, came back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a hard fought 7-11, 8-11, 11-0, 11-3, 12-10 victory.

Senior Nicholas Pitaro held strong at number six with a 3-0 win, while senior Harrison Boyer cruised to a 3-0 win at number seven.

The Bears will play at Middlebury on Sunday, January 21.
