
Women’s Hockey Set to Visit Union and RPI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will close out its season series versus Union and Rensselaer this week, traveling to Schenectady, N.Y. to face the Dutchwomen on Friday, Jan. 17 (6:00 p.m.) before squaring off against RPI on Saturday, Jan. 18 (3:00 p.m.).

SCOUTING THE DUTCHWOMEN
Union earned a 1-1 tie against No. 4 Cornell on Jan. 10 and lost 4-0 to Colgate on Jan. 11 in its most recent action. The Dutchwomen have played in six overtime games this season and have four losses by just one goal. Rachel de Perio (4-5-9) and Leah Herrfort (3-6-9) lead the team in scoring while Katelyn Russ leads the team in goals (6) and adds two assists for eight points. Bella McKee has started 20 games in net and has a 3.06 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. She has both of the team's wins in net with a 4-1 win over Brown (Nov. 9) and a 4-2 victory against Quinnipiac (Nov. 16).
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
RPI is winless so far this season and dropped its last two contests, a 4-1 showing versus Colgate (Jan. 10) and a 2-0 loss against No. 4 Cornell (Jan. 11). Blake Orosz leads the team in points with six on a team-high four goals and two assists. Sabrina Repaci holds the Engineers' assist lead with four and also has a goal for five points, which ranks second in scoring. Ena Nystrøm has seen the most action between the pipes with 16 starts and has put together a 3.31 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage. Amanda Rampado has logged six starts and a 3.17 GAA and a .921 save percentage.
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Sophomore Shay Maloney leads the Bears in scoring this season with team-highs in goals (4), assists (4) and points (8). Junior Megan Forrest (2-3-5) is second on the team in scoring after recording just two points (1-1-2) in her first two seasons. Calla Isaac leads the netminding group in games played (11) and a .896 save percentage. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native stopped a career-best 55 shots at Harvard on Nov. 1 and turned away 31 shots in a 2-1 win over RPI on Nov. 8. She has recorded 40 or more saves four times this season and had gone over 30 stops in eight contests. Sophomore Hayley Kliczko has also seen significant time between the pipes with six appearances. She registered a season-high 39 saves at Dartmouth on Nov. 2 and also made 32 stops versus Harvard on Dec. 7.
THIS SEASON VS. UNION
Brown was defeated by Union, 4-1, on Nov. 9 at Meehan Auditorium. Sophomore Shay Maloney recorded the lone goal for the Bears. Union would score three unanswered goals in the second period to take control of the contest before Maloney broke up the run at 16:31 of the third. The Dutchwomen's Katelynn Russ added an empty net goal for the final of 4-1.
THIS SEASON VS. RPI
Second period goals by sophomore Lizzy Gross and junior Megan Forrest helped lead Brown to a 2-1 conference win over RPI on Nov. 8 in the team's home opener at Meehan Auditorium. Gross and Forrest netted goals less than four minutes apart (15:33, 19:08) in the second period and senior Calla Isaac made 31 saves in the victory. The Bears came-from-behind after trailing 1-0 following the first 20 minutes of play.
THE ECAC/IVY LEAGUE ON ESPN
