PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's soccer team will head to Washington D.C. for a pair of road games this week, starting with Howard on Thursday (3 PM), before the Bears take on George Washington on Saturday (3 PM).

The Bears fell to Hartford, 2-1, in the season opener at home last Friday. Rookie defender Michael Chung provided the scoring for Brown for the early lead, but the Hawks scored a pair of goals in the second half, including the game winner in the 89th minute. James Swomley made five saves in net for the Bears and Malcolm Johnson led the team with three shots.
Scouting Howard
Howard (0-2) will look for its first win of the season on Thursday after a pair of shutout losses to Longwood and Mount St. Mary's. Carlos Caro has started both games in net for the Bison with four goals allowed and a six-save performance in the opener. Howard went 2-10-3 overall last season with a 1-3-1 record at home.
Series History vs. Howard
Thursday's match between Brown and Howard will be the third all-time meeting between the two schools, and first since the 1976 season. Brown leads the all-time series, 1-0-1.
Scouting George Washington
George Washington heads into Saturday's match at 1-2-1 after securing a 3-0 victory over Liberty on Tuesday. Max Holdsworth posted one goal and a pair of assists in the win, while Justin Grady totaled five saves. Grady has played all four games in goal for a 1.18 goals-against average and a .762 save percentage. As a team, the Colonials are averaging 12.3 shots per game. George Washington went 5-9-3 overall last season.
