PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's soccer will host 11 home games and make a trip to Texas A&M as part of its 17-match 2019 schedule, which begins on Aug. 30, Brown head coach Kia McNeill announced on Tuesday.
Highlights from the Bears' 2019 schedule include six home games from Aug. 30 to Sept. 18, beginning with the season opener against Hofstra on Aug. 30, the team's trip to Texas A&M for a fixture on Sept. 8, and three Ivy League home games.
The program's campaign kicks off with three straight non-conference home contests against Hofstra (Aug. 30), UMass Lowell (Sept. 1), and Connecticut (Sept. 5).
The Bears then make their trip to Texas A&M (Sept. 8) to face a side that reached the third round of the NCAA tournament a year ago. Brown then returns to Stevenson-Pincince Field for a trio of home games against Hartford (Sept. 12), Providence (Sept. 15), and Fairfield (Sept. 18).
Following a non-league game at Villanova (Sept. 22), Brown enters Ivy League play with a home game against Dartmouth (Sept. 28).
Opening the month of October, Brown plays at Columbia (Oct. 5) before hosting Princeton (Oct. 12) as part of the team's Alumnae Weekend. After a game at Harvard (Oct. 19), the Bears host Vermont (Oct. 23).
Brown closes October with a road game at Cornell (Oct. 26) and a home game against Penn (Nov. 2) in its final home Ivy fixture of the season. The Bears' home finale comes against Merrimack (Nov. 5), and the team closes its regular season at Yale (Nov. 9).
The Bears return all five of their All-Ivy selections from a year ago including a trio of two-time All-Ivy choices in Abby Carchio '20 (Lakeville, Mass.), Sydney Cummings '21 (Millstone Township, N.J.), and Star White '21 (Norfolk, Va.). Brown also brings back 2018 Ivy League Rookie of the Year Rebecca Rosen '22 (Port Washington, N.Y.) and All-Ivy selection Cameron Brown '21 (Portsmouth, Va.).
This past fall Brown finished the year with a record of .500 or better for the fourth straight season. The Bears concluded the season with 29 goals, marking their highest goal total since netting 37 goals in 2006.
