PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University softball hosts Dartmouth College for a three-game series with a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 27 beginning at 12:30 p.m. (ESPN+) and a single game on Sunday, Apr. 28 at 12:30 p.m. (ESPN+) as the Bears celebrate their seniors in their final home Ivy League weekend at the Brown Softball Field.

SENIOR SENDOFF
Prior to its game against Dartmouth on Sunday, Brown will recognize the five members of its senior class – Ashli Lotz (Austin, Texas), Annie Scarangella (Tucson, Ariz.), Cat Seitz (Poway, Calif.), Sofia Venegas (La Mirada, Calif.), and Meghan Wimmer (Boothwyn, Pa.) – for their hard work and dedication to the program over the last four years. Entering the weekend, the group has combined for 565 games played and 512 games started over their careers.
CHILDHOOD CANCER AWARENESS GAME: MAY 1
The Bears will host a Childhood Cancer Awareness Game against Boston University on Wednesday, May 1 at 4:00 p.m. as Brown supports the Rally Foundation and its mission to end childhood cancer. Brown freshman Madeline Charles (Filmore, Calif.) – who lost her 16-year-old cousin Patrick Graham to Burkett's Lymphoma in March 2019 – will throw out a ceremonial first pitch as the Bears work to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. IN HER SEITZ
Senior Cat Seitz (Poway, Calif.) leads the Ivy League with 11 doubles and ranks 33rd in the NCAA with 0.35 doubles per game. In the conference, she ranks seventh in runs (23), seventh in home runs (five), and eighth in slugging percentage (.582). In Ivy play, she stands second in doubles (six), and fourth in home runs (three). For the season, she has hit .316 with 31 hits and 14 RBIs, and in Ivy play, she has posted a .333 batting average with 16 hits, nine runs, and eight RBIs. She has played in 140 career games with 130 career starts.
CRANFORD CRANKS IT UP
Sophomore catcher Madi Cranford (Escondido, Calif.) has stepped up her production significantly in her second season with the Bears. She ranks third in the Ivy League in batting average (.418), second in slugging percentage (.716), fifth in on-base percentage (.487), and fourth in stolen bases (10). She has totaled 28 hits, 13 RBIs, 13 runs, six doubles, and four home runs.
INNERST DOES IT ALL
Freshman Lauren Innerst (San Jose, Calif.) has given the Bears a presence in the circle and at the plate. In the Ivy League pitching rankings, she stands fifth in ERA (2.79), fifth in strikeouts (57), seconds in strikeouts caught looking (24), and ninth in innings pitched (87.2). In Ivy play, she sits third in innings pitched (51.1), fifth in strikeouts (31), and third in strikeouts caught looking (nine). At the plate, she has notched nine hits and eight RBIs.
LOTZ AND VENEGAS AS VETERANS
Senior Ashli Lotz (Austin, Texas) has played in and started 99 games in her career. She has hit .284 this season with 27 hits, 12 runs, six RBIs, and two doubles. Senior Sofia Venegas (La Mirada, Calif.) has appeared in 138 career games with 124 career starts. This spring, she has posted a .250 batting average with 16 hits, eight runs, six RBIs, and three doubles.
IN THE CIRCLE
The Bears can turn to a trio of pitchers in the circle in freshman Lauren Innerst (San Jose, Calif.), junior Emily Waters (Northridge, Calif.), and sophomore Grace Ladd (Boulder, Colo.). Innerst ranks fifth in the Ivy League in both ERA (2.79) and strikeouts (57). Waters has posted a 4.42 ERA over 84.0 innings with 30 strikeouts while Ladd has tallied a 5.03 ERA over 40.1 innings with 19 strikeouts.
CRANFORD A TWO-TIME IVY PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore Madi Cranford (Escondido, Calif.) won Ivy League Player of the Week honors in each of the Bears' first two weekends of play to open the year. She earned the award on Mar. 4 after posting an .875 batting average (7-for-8), 1.125 slugging percentage, and .923 on-base percentage at the District Classic. She took the accolades again on Mar. 11 after notching a .700 batting average with a home run, triple, double, four RBIs and four runs at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational.
INNERST A TWO-TIME IVY ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshman Lauren Innerst (San Jose, Calif.) has captured Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors on two occasions this season. She garnered the award on Mar. 11 after tallying a 0.78 ERA over 9.0 innings pitched at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational, earning her first career save and first career win. She collected the accolades again on Mar. 26 after registering a .714 batting average (5-for-7) at the plate with three runs, two doubles, and three RBIs, while posting a 2.95 ERA in the circle over 19.0 innings with 14 strikeouts and two complete games.
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth carries an 8-25 overall record and a 5-10 Ivy League mark into the weekend. In its last Ivy series, the Big Green took two of three from Cornell. Micah Schroeder leads the conference in batting average (.471), slugging percentage (.828), and on-base percentage (.545), while ranking second in RBIs (30) and third in home runs (six). Madie Augusto paces the team's pitching staff with a 4.43 ERA.
