
Baseball Suffers Sunday Setback at Penn

PHILADELPHIA – Penn scored six runs in the first inning and led throughout the contest as the Brown baseball team fell to the Quakers, 17-4, in the middle game of a three-game series Sunday afternoon at Meiklejohn Stadium.

Brown (4-17, 1-4) and Penn (13-7, 3-2) will play the third and final game of the series Monday at 1 PM.

Willy Homza (Anchorage, Alaska) paced the lineup with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate to go along with two runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Peter Matt and Sean Phelan led the Quakers with four hits apiece. Brown drew seven walks as a team.

Collin Garner (St. Augustine, Fla.) was handed the loss as the starter with six earned runs over five innings of work. Mitchell Holcomb picked up the win with two earned runs over 5.2 frames and four strikeouts.
