#20 Bears Narrowly Fall To #17 Williams, 5-4

The #20 Brown men's squash team turned in a gallant performance against #17 Williams before falling to the Ephs, 5-4, Wednesday evening.

"We are proud of their tenacity," said Brown head coach Stuart leGassick. "For senior Philip Demeulenaere to take everyone to the edge of their seats and 9-9 in the fifth after having the flu 48 hours ago was remarkable. Wonderful individual and team effort."

Demeulenaere's thrilling match came at number five where he finally fell 7-11,12-10,11-7,9-11,11-9.

Andrew Wei led the Bears with a 3-0 win at number two. Also winning for the Bears were junior Blake Gilbert-Bono at six, 3-1; senior Ben Caraballo, who came back from a 1-0 deficit to win 3-1 at eight; and sophomore William Glaser at nine, 3-0.

Brown will face Dartmouth on Friday evening in Hanover, NH, and return home on Saturday, February 9 for a Senior Day match-up with Harvard at 1pm.
