
Men’s Soccer Entertains Princeton on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's soccer team continues conference play and will host Princeton at Stevenson-Pincince Field on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Brown's comeback fell short at Columbia last Saturday with the Bears falling to the Lions, 3-2, in their Ivy League opener at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. After trailing 2-0, Brown recorded two-consecutive goals, with senior Daniel Schiller scoring the first and assisting the second, however, Columbia would net the go ahead tally at 73:32 and hold on for the win. Freshman Owen Schwartz registered his first collegiate goal when he connected on a header for the Bears' second goal.
BEAR LEADERS
Six different players have recorded a goal for Brown this season, with senior Daniel Schiller, sophomore Alex Mina, freshman Brady Van Epps, sophomore Malcolm Johnson and freshman Michael Chung logging a score. Schiller has a team-high three points with the addition of an assist. Sophomore James Swomley leads the goalkeepers with four starts, a 1.42 goals-against average and a .727 save percentage. Swomley is third in the Ivy League in both goals-against average and save percentage. Junior Max Gross and Max Waldau have also seen action in net this season, registering four and one game played, respectively.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Princeton enters Saturday with a 6-3 overall record and a 0-1 mark in Ivy League play. All three of Princeton's losses this season have come on the road. The Tigers dropped their conference opener, 1-0, at Dartmouth and recorded a 3-0 victory over Delaware on Tuesday in their most recent action. Walker Gillespie paces the Tigers in points with 11 on five goals and one assist. His five goals rank second-best in the Ivy League. Jacob Schachner leads the keepers in starts with seven while posting a 1.76 GAA and a .625 save percentage.
LAST TIME VS. PRINCETON
Princeton defeated the Bears, 2-0, with a pair of second-half goals in last year's meeting in Princeton, N.J. Sophomore James Swomley made a career-high seven saves in the contest.
UP NEXT
Brown will host Rhode Island on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7:00 p.m. before traveling to Harvard on Saturday, Oct. 19 for a 12:00 p.m. Ivy League matchup.
