
Women’s Hockey Heads to Dartmouth and Harvard

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will travel to Dartmouth on Friday, Feb. 1 for a 5:00 p.m. contest and will then play at Harvard on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
Dartmouth enters Friday having lost 10 straight with its last win coming against Union on Nov. 30, a 4-2 decision. The Big Green dropped both games last weekend in North Country, opening with a 3-2 loss at St. Lawrence on Jan. 25 and closing with a 4-2 loss at No. 5 Clarkson. Sara McClanahan leads the team in goals (5) and points (11) while also contributing six assists. Lotti Odnoga has a team-best seven assists and is third on the team in points (8) with the addition of a goal. Christine Honor has received the bulk of the playing time in net and has a 3.20 goals-against average and a .897 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard is winless in its last four games and last played St. Lawrence to a scoreless tie on Jan. 26. The Crimson also fell at No. 5 Clarkson last weekend, 4-2, on Jan. 25. Kristin Della Rovere leads the offense in goals (6) and points (13) while also having seven assists. Kat Hughes carries the Crimson's lead in assists with nine on the year and also has one goal to tie for third on the team in points (10). Lindsay Reed has started 17 games between the pipes and has a 2.04 goals-against average, a .941 save percentage and three shutouts. Her save percentage ranks second in the ECAC.
BROWN LEADERS
Sena Hanson leads the Bears in scoring with 15 points on a team-best 11 goals and four assists. Freshman Shay Maloney (2-9-11) is second on the team in scoring while fellow rookie Lizzy Gross (6-3-9) and sophomore Kaitijane Blumberg (4-5-9) are tied for third. Maloney paces the Bears in assists with nine. Junior Calla Isaac leads the netminder group in goals-against average (3.46), save percentage (.909), shutouts (1) and starts (10). The Sherwood Park, Alberta native tied her season-high of 40 saves on Jan. 18 in a 3-3 tie at St.. Lawrence. Freshman Hayley Kliczko has also seen a fair share of time in net with nine starts and has a 3.53 GAA and a .893 save percentage. The rookie recorded a career-best 44 saves at Union on Nov. 10 in a 2-2 tie, which included four saves in overtime.
LAST YEAR VS. DARTMOUTH
Brown split last year's series with the Big Green, winning game one, 3-2, in Hanover, N.H. on Nov. 11, and falling, 3-2, in game two in Providence on Jan. 26. In the first meeting, Dartmouth scored two first period goals to claim a 2-0 lead but Brown would register two in the second to tie and one in the third to take the victory. Junior Calla Isaac made 28 saves in the contest. In game two, the Bears held a 2-1 lead after two periods but the Big Green came back to score at 13:17 and as time was winding down at 19:15 of the third for the win.
LAST YEAR VS. HARVARD
The Crimson won both meetings last year, putting up six goals in each contest with a 6-3 win in Boston on Nov. 10 and a 6-1 triumph in Providence on Jan. 27. After Harvard held a 2-0 lead after two periods and built its advantage to 5-0 halfway through the third, Brown made things interesting with three-straight goals, two coming on the power play. After sophomore Kaitijane Blumberg's power-play score at 16:13, the Crimson held off the Brown attack and sealed with win with a goal at 19:07. Game two saw Harvard score two goals in each period while Brown registered its lone goal in the third.
NEXT UP
Brown will return to Meehan Auditorium to close out the season series against No. 4 Princeton on Friday, Feb. 8 and Quinnipiac on Saturday, Feb. 9. Friday's game against the Tigers will begin at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's contest will start at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
