
Women’s Hockey Welcomes Union and RPI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team returns to Meehan Auditorium and will host Union on Friday, Jan. 25 and Rensselaer on Saturday, Jan. 26. Friday's game will begin at 6:00 p.m. while Saturday's contest will start at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE DUTCHWOMEN
Union enters Friday having lost 10 straight with its last win coming at RIT on Oct. 20, a 3-2 decision. The Dutchwomen played just one game last weekend and fell at Rensselaer, 4-1. Arianna Kosakowski leads the team in points with eight on four goals and four assists. Kosakowski shares Union's goal lead (4) with Katelynn Russ and Haley Shugart. Ava Reynolds paces Union in assists with five on the year. Amelia Murray and Coco Francis have split goaltending duties. Murry has recorded 11 starts, a 3.26 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage while Francis has posted 10 starts, a 3.88 GAA and a .877 save percentage. Kate Spooner has also started two games and has a 3.45 GAA and a .916 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE ENGINEERS
RPI has won two straight and four of its last five games. The Engineers defeated Union, 4-1, on Jan. 18 in their last contest. Blake Orosz leads the team in goals (10) and points (19) while adding nine assists. Sabrina Repaci and Jaimie Grigsby lead the Engineers in assists with 10 each while Repaci also has six goals to total 16 points, second-best on the team. Lovisa Selander has started 20 games between the pipes and ranks second in the ECAC in save percentage (.942) and is first in total saves (638). She also has a 2.00 goals-against average and two shutouts. Kira Bombay has started three games and has one shutout, a 1.60 GAA and a .951 save percentage.
BROWN LEADERS
Sena Hanson leads the Bears in scoring with 14 points on a team-best 11 goals and three assists. Freshman Shay Maloney (1-9-10) is second on the team in scoring while fellow rookie Lizzy Gross is third (6-3-9). Maloney paces the Bears in assists with nine. Junior Calla Isaac leads the netminder group in goals-against average (3.46), save percentage (.909), shutouts (1) and starts (10). The Sherwood Park, Alberta native tied her season-high of 40 saves on Jan. 18 in a 3-3 tie at St.. Lawrence. Freshman Hayley Kliczko has also seen time in net with seven starts and has a 3.75 GAA and a .898 save percentage. The rookie recorded a career-best 44 saves at Union on Nov. 10 in a 2-2 tie, which included four saves in overtime.
LAST TIME VS. UNION
Brown put together a third period comeback and fought to a 2-2 overtime tie at Union on Nov. 10 at Messa Rink. It was Brown's first tie of the season and first tie since Feb. 5, 2016 at Harvard (3-3). The Dutchwomen scored twice in the second period to take a 2-0 lead before the Bears scored two in the third period, the first from sophomore Darby Melia (14:13), her first-career goal, and the game-tying score from freshman Tina Paolillo (14:30). In the bonus period, freshman Hayley Kliczko made four saves to preserve the tie and ended the game with a career-high 44 stops.
LAST TIME VS. RPI
Brown was edged by RPI, 1-0, in the first meeting between the two teams on Nov. 9 at Houston Field House. The lone goal of the game came on the power play for the Engineers in the second period. Freshman Hayley Kliczko finished the contest with 24 saves while Kira Bombay had 18 stops for RPI.

Brown will travel to Dartmouth on Friday, Feb. 1 for a 5:00 p.m. contest and will then play at Harvard on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
