#15 Brown Narrowly Falls To #18 Middlebury, 5-4

Boston, Mass. – Brown and Middlebury battled in a match played at Harvard with the Bears (3-5) falling by a 5-4 margin in a thrilling match.

"What a classic college squash match," said Brown head coach Stuart leGassick. "We had it within our grasp. Two match balls in the fifth game of the penultimate match, while on the court next door freshman Grant Sterman pulled out a remarkable 3-2 win - to no avail! An awesome effort by the team."

Sterman was outstanding at number one, dropping the first game but rallying for a 3-2 victory. Sophomore Andrew Wei also fell in the first game at number two, but came back for a 3-1 decision.

Brown also had wins from junior Harrison Boyer, 3-1, at number five, and junior Blake Gilbert-Bono, 3-0, at number nine.

The Bears are back in action again on Saturday, January 26, hosting Bowdoin in a 12:00 pm match.
