
Men’s Soccer Set to Host George Washington, Albany

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's soccer team will continue its three-game home stretch this weekend when the Bears host George Washington on Friday (7 PM) and Albany on Sunday (4:30 PM). Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+, while Sunday's game will also air on NESNplus.

THE IVY LEAGUE ON ESPN
Video of all home contests and all Ivy League games, home and away, will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Fans can subscribe and view games by purchasing a monthly package for $4.99 or a yearly package for $49.99.
BROWN WINS SEASON OPENER
Brown rallied past Bryant, 2-1, in the season opener last week. The Bears scored two goals in the final ten minutes, starting when rookie Derek Waleffe notched the equalizer for his first career tally. Junior Daniel Schiller then scored with game winner at 88:10 to seal the win. Freshman James Swomley had two saves in net and the Bears outshot the Bulldogs, 17-8.
SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington (2-1) will head to Rhode Island for a pair of games this weekend, playing Brown on Friday before Providence College on Sunday. The Colonials scored nine combined goals over their first two games, both wins over Stony Brook and American, before falling to Lehigh last Saturday. Oscar Haynes Brown leads the nation with seven goals and is tied for the national lead in points (15). As a team, GW leads the nation in assists (4.00 per game) and is averaging 3.00 goals per game.
SCOUTING ALBANY
The Great Danes are 2-2 heading into the weekend at Providence and Brown. Albany has played in four one-goal games, including a pair of overtime contests. Nico Solabarrieta leads the way with two goals and five points, scoring twice in the season opener against Marist. Danny Vitiello has played all four games in net and has collected eight saves with a 1.90 goals-against average.
LEAGUE LEADERS
Matthew Chow leads the Ivy League with 5.00 shots per game despite just one game played. Derek Waleffe and Daniel Schiller are ranked second in the league in points at 2.00 points per game. As a team, Brown is ranked second with 17.00 shots per game.
ROAD TRIP
After this weekend, Brown will hit the road for a four-game swing, starting next weekend with a pair of games in California when the Bears visit San Diego State and UC Irvine.
