
Brown Falls To Bryant, 17-9

Providence, R.I. - With the score tied, 6-6, early in the second quarter, Bryant held the Bears scoreless for 21 minutes and went on an 8-0 run, to come away with a 17-9 win over Brown Tuesday evening at Stevenson-Pincince Field.
Bryant improves to 8-6 overall, while Brown falls to 5-8 on the season.
Brown completes its regular season at home on Saturday, April 28, with an important Ivy League match-up against Dartmouth with an Ivy League Tournament berth on the line. Face-off is 4:00 pm at Stevenson-Pincince in a game televised on NESNplus and the Ivy League Network.
Junior Michael Panepinto (Needham, MA) paced the Bears with three goals, while freshman Ryan Aughavin (Glen Head, NY) scored two goals for the second straight game. Freshman George Grell (Short Hills, NJ), sophomore Jack Kniffin (Darien, CT), senior Stephen Hudak (Rydal, PA) and junior Jackson Newsome (Arlington, VA) scored one goal each for Brown.
Sophomore Phil Goss (San Francisco, CA) had 10 saves for the Bears, while Kevin Beimfohr made eight saves for Bryant.
Tom Kennedy and Cam Ziegler led the Bulldogs, with Kennedy scoring five goals and an assist, and Ziegler registering five points with four goals and an assist.
Bryant out-shot the Bears, 40-34, and had a 36-25 advantage in ground balls.
The game started out as a chess match with neither team leading by more than a goal and Brown knotting the score at 6-6 on an unassisted goal by Grell at 11:27 of the second quarter.
Ziegler put the Bulldogs up for good, scoring three of the next four goals and sparking an 8-0 Bulldogs' run to take a 14-6 lead with 5:22 left in the third quarter on a goal by Matt Heldberg.
