Women’s Soccer’s Hinton Collects Ivy League Rookie of the Week Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown University women's soccer freshman defender Lauren Hinton has earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors after the Bears posted a pair of shutouts last week, the Ivy League conference office announced on Monday.
A native of Middletown, Conn., Hinton helped Brown post a pair of shutouts last week with victories over Delaware State (6-0) and Yale (3-0). She played the full 90 minutes in the Bears' clean sheet against the Bulldogs, helping Brown tally its fifth shutout as a team this year. For the season, Hinton started all 17 games and played 1,491 of a possible 1,557 minutes.
The result against Yale marked Brown's largest margin of victory against an Ivy League opponent since a 4-0 win over Cornell on Oct. 21, 2007 and marked the Bears' largest margin of victory against Yale since a 5-0 win on Sept. 17, 1988.
Brown finished the year with a record of .500 or better for the fourth straight season.
Video of all Brown women's soccer home contests and all Ivy League games, home and away, will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
