
Women’s Soccer’s Carchio Earns All-East Region, New England Midfielder of the Year Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown University women's soccer junior midfielder Abby Carchio has earned United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-East Region and New England Soccer Journal New England Midfielder of the Year honors, the two organizations announced on Monday.
A native of Lakeville, Mass., Carchio has garnered First Team All-Ivy accolades in back-to-back years.
Carchio put together an outstanding junior season with 28 points on 10 goals and eight assists. She led the league in points (28) and assists (eight), while ranking second in goals (10). In Ivy play, she stood first in the conference in assists (six), second in points (12), and third in goals (three). She more than tripled her goal total (three) and more than doubled her point total (12) from her first two seasons combined.

As a team, the Bears concluded the season with 29 goals, marking their highest goal total since netting 37 goals in 2006. Brown finished the year with a record of .500 or better for the fourth straight season.
