Men’s Hockey Travels to UConn for Tuesday Matchup

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's ice hockey team will head to Hartford on Tuesday night when the Bears take on Connecticut in a non-conference contest at the XL Center.

Last Time Out
Brown split a pair of ECAC and Ivy games at home over the weekend. The Bears topped Dartmouth, 4-2, and then lost to Harvard, 5-2. Six different Brown players scored goals over the course of both games, while Tommy Marchin, Chris Berger and Tristan Crozier each had one goal and one assist. Brown went 6-for-6 on the penalty kill in the win over Dartmouth and Gavin Nieto made 31 saves, his third straight game with 30-plus saves. Nieto made 20 saves the following night against Harvard.

Scouting UConn
Connecticut (4-4-1, 2-3-1) most recently dropped a one-goal game to Northeastern last Friday and will look to snap a two-game skid when it hosts Brown on Tuesday. Alexander Payusov is tied for the Hockey East league lead with eight goals in nine games, while Jáchym Kondelík paces the Huskies with ten assists. Adam Huska (3-3-1) has started all but two games in net and has a 2.57 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage with one shutout. UConn is 1-0-1 at home this season and is averaging 2.56 goals per game. The Huskies are checking in at 16 percent on the power play.

Brown vs. UConn All-Time
Brown and UConn have met 12 times, with the Bears leading the all-time series, 7-4-1. This will be the fifth meeting in as many seasons between the two teams. UConn topped the Bears, 6-4, last season in Providence. Max Gottlieb, Tommy Marchin and Zach Giuttari all posted multiple-point games against the Huskies last season.
