
Women’s Hockey Opens ECAC Play on the Road at Quinnipiac and Princeton

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown women's hockey team will open ECAC play on the road at Quinnipiac on Friday, Oct. 26 and at Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 27. The first game of the weekend will begin at 6:00 p.m. in Hamden, Conn. while the second contest in Princeton, N.J. will start at 3:00 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
Quinnipiac is winless so far on the season with a 0-4-2 record. The Bobcats opened the year with two straight 3-2 losses against No. 7/7 Ohio State on Sept. 28 and 29. Quinnipiac last played on Friday, Oct. 12 and Saturday, Oct. 13, two overtime ties at Vermont (1-1 game one, 3-3 game two). Taylor House leads the Bobcats in points with four, on three goals and one assist. Sarah-Eve Coutu-Godbout is the team's assist leader with three on the year, tying her for second with Lexie Adzija (1-2-3) in point output. Abbie Ives has started four games between the pipes and has a squad best 2.15 goals-against average and a 2.15 save percentage to go along with a 0-2-2 record. Allison Small has started two games and has a 3.05 GAA and .898 save percentage with a 0-2-0 mark. Quinnipiac has yet to score a power-play goal this season, coming up empty on 22 chances.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Princeton had a tough task to open the season at now No. 1/1 Wisconsin, and narrowly fell to the Badgers in game one, 4-3, on Oct. 19. The Tigers were shutout in the series finale, 3-0, on Oct. 21. Princeton will host Yale on Friday, Oct. 26 before welcoming Brown to Hobey Baker Rink the following day. Carly Bullock and Sarah Fillier lead the team in points with two apiece. Bullock has an even one goal and one assist while Fillier has two helpers. Rachel McQuigge has seen all of the time in net and has a 3.50 GAA and a .883 save percentage.
BROWN TALKING POINTS
Freshman Lizzy Gross leads the Bears in scoring with six points on four goals and two assists. The rookie netted a hat trick in her second-career game at Holy Cross on Oct. 20, a 4-0 win, and has notched a goal in two-straight contests. Gross recorded a goal and two assist in Brown's come-from-behind victory against UConn on Tuesday. Three Bears are tied for second in scoring, with junior Sena Hanson (2-2-4), sophomore Kaitijane Blumberg (2-2-4) and freshman Shay Maloney (0-4-4) all with four points. Freshman Hayley Kliczko started Brown's last game in goal and made 40 saves in her collegiate debut against UConn. Junior Calla Isaac started the first two games of the season and has a .050 GAA and a .982 save percentage. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native posted her first career shutout on Saturday at Holy Cross with 32 saves.
LAST TIME OUT
Trailing 3-1 entering the third period, Brown put together an impressive comeback and scored four unanswered goals to claim a 5-3 victory over UConn on Tuesday night at Meehan Auditorium. Freshman Tina Paolillo provided the game-tying goal at 16:43 on her first-career tally while junior Sena Hanson netted the go-ahead score on a breakaway with just 16 seconds remaining. Freshman Hayley Kliczko concluded the game with 40 saves for the Bears in her first collegiate game. The rookie posted double digit saves in the first two periods with 16 and 17, respectively. Hanson (1-1-2), sophomore Kaitijane Blumberg (2-0-2) and freshman Lizzy Gross (1-2-3) all finished with multiple points on the night. UConn outshot Brown in the first (16-7) and second periods (20-2) but the Bears would come out firing in the third to hold a 13-7 edge for the stanza.
IN THE ECAC
With just three games under their belts, the Bears are tied for third in the conference in goals with 12 on the year. The two teams ahead of Brown, Clarkson (25) and Colgate (18), have played six games so for this season. The Bears' 4.00 goals per game average is tied for second. Individually, freshman Lizzy Gross is tied for third in goals with four and tied for second in +/- with a +8 rating.
ISAAC AND GROSS EARN ECAC WEEKLY HONORS
Junior Calla Isaac and freshman Lizzy Gross earned weekly honors from the ECAC on Monday, Oct. 22 in an announcement from the league.
Isaac was named the ECAC Goalie of the Week after she made a total of 56 saves in a series sweep against Holy Cross in the team's opening weekend. She allowed just one goal in the two games versus the Crusaders. Isaac made 24 saves in a 3-1 game one win on Friday, Oct. 19 and came back the following night to post 32 saves for her first-career shutout in a 4-0 victory. Isaac and the Bears shutdown all nine of Holy Cross' power-play opportunities on the weekend.
Gross earned ECAC Rookie of the Week laurels after netting a hat trick in a 4-0 game two win at Holy Cross for her first collegiate points. Gross' scores included a power play and unassisted goal. She finished the weekend with a +4 rating.
ROOKIES MAKE AN IMPACT

Classmate Shay Maloney also finished the weekend with multiple points, recording four assists, three coming in Saturday's 4-0 victory. Jacquie Tam got things started for the newcomers in the season opener and had the game winner on Friday in the Bears' 3-1 win. Gross again filled the stat sheet on Tuesday night with one goal and two assists while Tina Paolillo scored her first collegiate goal which was the game-tying score in the third period versus UConn.

The Bears will return home to Meehan Auditorium and host Colgate and Cornell in an ECAC weekend on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4.
