
Cornell Rallies For 34-16 Win Over Brown

Cornell improves to 3-3 overall, 2-1 in the Ivy League, while Brown falls to 1-5 overall, 0-3 in Ivy play.
Bears' junior wide receiver LJ Harriott (Central Islip, NY) accounted for 129 yards of total offense, rushing for 73 yards, including a 65-yard TD run, and catching a pass for 56 yards.
Brown quarterback Michael McGovern (St. Louis, MO) threw for 195 yards and a touchdown, completing 14-of-27 passes. Freshman Allen Smith (Westerville, OH) ran for 64 yards and scored on a six-yard reception from McGovern.
Defensively, Brown junior Brendan Pyne (Bradenton, FL) and sophomore Chima Amushie (Richmond, TX) each had 10 total tackles, with eight solo hits. Bears' senior Daniel Aidman (Austin, TX) registered eight tackles. Sophomore BJ Ubani (West Covina, CA) registered an interception for the Bears.
Big Red quarterback Dalton Banks guided Cornell to 498 yards of total offense. He threw for 265 yards and three touchdowns, completing 10-of-26 passes. Harold Coles did most of the damage on the ground, rushing for 141 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.
After a scoreless opening quarter, Brown got on the score board first with 9:49 left in the half on a 37-yard field goal by freshman Dylan Brady (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) for a 3-0 Bears' lead.
Harriott electrified the Family Weekend crowd, taking a direct snap and out-running the Big Red defense 65 yards for a touchdown to give the Bears a 10-0 lead with 6:44 left in the half.
The remainder of the second quarter belonged to Cornell with the Big Red scoring two touchdowns, the second on a one-yard pass from Banks to Owen Peters with 12 seconds remaining.
The Big Red scored on their first possession of the second half, driving 75 yards in nine plays, capped off by a six-yard scoring run by Coles to gain a 21-10 advantage.
The momentum continued to go in Cornell's direction with 59-yard scoring pass play from Dalton to Lars Pederson on the first play of the fourth quarter to give Cornell a 28-10 lead. A three-yard touchdown run by JD PicKell gave the Big Red a 34-10 lead with 5:31 left in the game.
Brown scored a fourth-quarter touchdown on a seven-yard pass from McGovern to Smith with 2:42 left in the game.
Brown continues its two-game homestand on Saturday, October 27, hosting the Penn Quakers at Brown Stadium. Kick-off is 1:00 pm on ESPN+.
