
Men's Crew Claims Three Races at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. – Brown men's crew claimed three out of the five races at Dartmouth, but the Big Green topped the Bears in the varsity event to take back the Atalanta Cup Saturday on the Connecticut River.
The two programs opened the day with the fourth varsity race, as the Bears crossed first in a time of 5:29.3, followed by Dartmouth at 5:34.5. The Big Green responded in the next race with a victory in the third varsity at 5:25.3, followed by the Bears in a time of 5:30.5.
Brown captured a close second varsity race, edging the Big Green in a time of 5:23.3 before the home crew crossed at 5:23.2.
In the varsity event, the annual battle for the Atalanta Cup, Dartmouth pulled out a tight victory by nine-tenths of a second at 5:14.8. Brown completed the 2000-meter course in a time of 5:15.7.
Brown entered a pair of boats in the varsity four and took the top two spots in the race, crossing in times of 6:11.6 and 6:17.9, before the Big Green finished at 6:23.6.
The Bears will visit Princeton next Saturday in the final tune up before EARC Eastern Sprints.
