
Men's Crew's Bitler Wins Gold at CRASH-B Indoor Rowing Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Grant Bitler (Roaring, Gap, N.C.) and sophomore Alex Miklasevich (Pittsburgh, Pa.) claimed the top two spots in U-23 event as Brown men's crew participated at the CRASH-B Indoor Rowing World Championships on Sunday at Agganis Arena in Boston.
The CRASH-B championships is an annual event held in February, considered to be the culmination of the winter indoor training season, where competitors face off in a simulated 2000-meter race on Concept 2 indoor rowing machines.
Bitler paced the Brown rowers as he won the hammer with a first-place showing in the U-23 event at 5:58.2, finishing ninth overall in the Open Men division, and also took home the bronze medal in the collegiate category. Bitler previously captured the bronze in the collegiate and U-23 categories as a freshman two years ago in 2015.
Miklasevich was not far behind, as he picked up a silver medal in the U-23 category, finishing in a time of 5:58.6.
Brown men's crew will open the spring season on Saturday, March 25 when the Bears host Yale on the Seekonk River.
